Week 3

Dinner - brother was in town and brought elk meat - marinated it in soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame seed oil, cider vinegar, ketchup, garlic and later made a stir fry with some frozen vegetables, served with white rice.

PREPPED - browned leftover sausage for meals this week, cut up ham (sliced some for leftover snack, cut-up some for split pea soup, baked beans recipes, quiche, and pot pies), and cooked bones for ham stock.

Wed:

packed DH lunch - yogurt, cranenergy drink, blueberries (plan to take him a hot sandwich from Dominiks deli)

    breakfast -cereal, coffee
    packed DH lunch - cheese curds (from brother), breakfast bar, yogurt, coleslaw, cranenergy drink, water.

    kids snack - breakfast bar

    lunch - leftovers for me, kids - hotdog, green beans from garden, apple juice

    Garden-
    picked beans, peas, cauliflower, broccoli, cucumber, tomato

    Today, I cleaned and washed them. Froze an Asian medley of pea pods, cauliflower, and broccoli, blanched and froze 1 gallon bag.

    Made antipasti salad for dinner. Prepped stacked enchilada with one to spare in freezer.

    Looked for recipe for dilly beans...maybe tomorrow I'll can them. Cleaned fridge - sauteed mushrooms and onions for omelet on Friday. Placed unused grilled chicken and sausage in freezer/freezer bag for Italian wedding soup. Placed ham slices in freezer for later use. Remaining seasoned ground beef (from enchilada) used to make sloppy joes for Friday night's dinner.

    packed light lunch for DH

    lunch - yogurt, brownies
    dinner - sloppy joes, coleslaw, frozens strawberries

    Sat - omelets, eggs/toast-kids, coffee/juice

    prepping pot roast (roast, potatoes, carrots, celery, onions) for lunch, we are going to a pool/pizza birthday party for this evening.

    dinner - DH had to get buy a burrito. kids had pizza, I had stacked enchilada

    deal with burrito - spend $10 get free burrito - bought 2 steak tacos and a large guacamole dip. 11.03 oop

  5. gardening - my dear friend, CJ, came over and we made 18 pints of bread and butter pickles. 9 for her and 9 for me....they are delicious :-)
